Hot cherry beer at Craft Beer Base’s booth at the Ranbu flea market event. I was actually thinking it would be nice to have a hot cherry beer like Unibroue’s Quelque Chose when a week later Craft Beer Base announced this event! Sweet! It is a very dark red, reminiscent of red wine in the white paper cup I had it looked almost black. No head but then again this isn’t a type of beer with lots of carbonation! The aroma is one of cherries and the flavor is tart-sour-sweet cherries with a slight finishing bitterness. It is well-balanced & excellent on a cold winter day! Remember, this beer is made to be drunk HOT if you are drinking it cold you aren’t drinking it right...

Bottle 0.75l at Pivo, Oulu. Colour is deep red with small white head. Aromaa and flavours are berries, cinnamon and sweetness. Not bad.

A dark red beer with a quite weak and blond head. Aroma of dominating cherries, also other fruits, strawberries, lots of X-mas spices, cinnamon. Pleasant and temptating aroma. Taste is sweet, strawberries and cherries, lots of X-mas spices, vanilla and cinnamon. Medium bodied, slightly sticky to drink. Quite similar when cold or warm. Nice, Christmas spicy beer with nice balance.

Bottle. Served warm. Dark red colour with a foamy head, might be from the heating. Aroma is spicy, cinnamon. Flavour is rather sour, cherry, cinnamon.

Bottled, 0.33l. Clear amber brown color with large fluffy pinkish head. Aroma of cinnamon, wine, raisins, cherry and berries. Taste starts sweet and sour fruity, while followed light spicy. Full body, sticky texture and soft carbonation in palate. Unique with warm serving, otherwise tastes like glühwein...

Served at 70°C. Pours clear deep amber/brown with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of raisin, cinnamon, clove, fruits and spices. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long fruity raisin finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

Aroma has some sweetish cherries with hints of spices and licorice. Flavour has cherries, some warming alcohol, hints of spices and sugar. Nice, much better than Timmermans Warme Kriek. The cherries do not feel artifical here.
