A gloriously well balanced chocolate stout with a punchy hit of mint providing a cool refreshing mouth feel for this limited keg brew.

On cask at Coach and Horses, Dronfield - A bit different, deep rich black body, with thick white head. Nose is straight away mint choc chip ice-cream, the taste is similar, a bit like a powdery After Eight mint... in a glass. The mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side, but even so, it was excellent. Wouldn’t do more than one though.

What a rare brew. Black as The Night with a small beige head. We called it the Villa beer. After Eight! It was more or less like floating after eight chocolate. Nice if you like that. Otherwise….do not buy!

Craft Islington. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Light palate, smooth with fine carbonation. Lovely nose of After Eight mint chocolates. Nice light chocolate with well judges and well integrated mint. Finishes smooth and minty! My favourite of the Thornbridge beers showcased tonight. Could easily have been a mess but it’s light, tasty and very very drinkable.

Cask at Craft Beer Islington, 06/03/13. Mid black with a frothy tan head that retains well. Nose is mint choc chip ice cream, vanilla, dark malts, touch of wood, dark chocolate behind the mint. Taste comprises roast malt, dark chocolate, mint, slight lactic notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth and massaging on the palate, dryish finish. Cracking stuff!

Cask at CBI on 4th March 2013. Almost black with tan ring of foam and scant lacing. Minty, vanilla and chocolate aromas. Minty with spearmint notes and rich chocolate in-mouth. Sweetness subsides in the finish to leave a bitter core. Smooth, velvet bodyful mouthfeel. Rated as a novelty beer.

Cask at CBC Islington, London. Big thanks to Jack for the leftovers! Pours deep brown with a fine, creamy beige head. Moderate chocolate and mint leaf in the nose. Light sweet flavor with more minty cocoa, very light dirt. Light bodied with fine carbonation. A bit of menthol cooling in the finish, with further mint chocolate, mellow roast, low earthy bitterness, dirt, cocoa. Really nice mint integration here.
