50 cl bottle @ Utsjoki, BBE 04/2014 Aroma has vegetables, pea soup, metal, some toffee and caramel malt. Flavour has vegetables, ashy notes, some caramel and toffee. Dry finish with some harsh malt and ash. Laitila(!) house flavour is quite strong here – most likely a bit contaminated. Not completely ruined though.

Cask at the strong room. Dark ruby red copper no head. Aroma is nutty Grainy granary bread. Hints of toasted bread. Flavour follows more berry fruit esters soft coronation sticky palate. Good malty beer.

500ml bottle. Filmy ruby red dark copper colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Herbal hoppy aroma with fruity notes of dark berries, yeastie overtones. Taste is herbal hoppy, husky notes, sublte sweet fruity undertones, milk chocolate, some lemon. Nice complexity, well balanced.

Bottle from Oddbins London Bridge. I’ve just heard the phrase "my father would have killed for a rectum of a horse." which puts everything into context doesn’t it? Dark brown beer with a lasting thick dark beige head. This is a very good best bitter. Brilliant malts, great peppery hop on the end. This is really good. A very good best bitter.

Bottle 0.5l at home (via alesbymail). BBE 05/13. Colour is brown with medium brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Chocolate, sweetness, nuts, fruits, hops and roasted malts. Pretty nice.

Cask at the William Webb Ellis (JDW), Twickenham - 02/03/13. Clear dark chestnut brown with a thin beige head that retains well. Nose is caramel, biscuit, dark malts, light fruit notes. Taste comprises caramel, orange, light grapefruit, hops, mineral notes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Decent stuff.

Cask (gravity) @ 28th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2011, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, EnglandClear medium amber color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, roasted, spicy notes. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Southampton Arms, 139 Highgate Road, London, Greater London, England NW5 1LE.Clear medium to dark red amber colour with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, caramel, nutty, earthy, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, hoppy, fresh. Cask at Windsor Locale beer festival 2012. A copper coloured pour with a small white head on top. Malty, fruity aroma. Tastes really malty, fruity, caramel, hoppy, slight sweetness. Rich tasting and rather good.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town, London, 19 April 2012) Reddish brown colour with brief, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dried fruit, raisins, nuts and dark bread. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, toast, raisins and spicy hops in a slightly bitter-sweet finish. Medium body, with a certain malt sweetness. Quite decent.

Cask at Pigs Ear. Clear brown beer, no real head. Good malt base. Light dry hops. A little citrus, a little pine. Nice but finish is pretty dry.
