A velvety dark, exceptionally smooth and creamy stout with soft treacle flavours and a full body. Not as strong as some traditional stouts, but lacking none of their taste.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Very dark dark and slightly hazy with a small creamy head. It’s a little too thin and session style in its texture which negates some of the stout flavours. It only has a very light roasted malt.

Cask at The Victoria; dark chestnut brown pour with quickly dissapating soapy beige head, coffee aroma, quite a thin watery stout with some coffee and chocolate, and a hint of sweet brown sugar.

(Cask at Angleterre, 20140117) The beer poured black. Its head was small, almost white and it lasted long. Aroma had chocolate, toasted malts and sweet hops. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, chocolate, sweet hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was toasty and bitter. A nice balanced stout.

Cask @ Angleterre. Dark brown, thick lasting light brown head. Toasted malty, slightly sweet aroma, hint of coffee. Flavor has roasted malt, licorice, mild coffee notes. Thinnish, but quite tasty. Dry salty finish.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico - 22/06/12. Near black with a tan head. Aroma of roasted dark malts, nuts, bitter chocolate. Taste as aroma with some licquorice and a hop bitterness in the finish. Medium body, good lowish level of carbonation, dry finish and full flavour for a 4.1% stout.
