Cask pint at Wetherspoons, Victoria Station, London. Copper colour, low off-white head. Moderate aroma, malts, toffee and a hint of fruity hops. Pleasant flavour, decent hops with a hint of blackcurrants, malty and nutty notes too. Good beer.

Cask at the Lyndhurst, Reading. Amber-brown with a moderate white head. Predominantly oaky flavour with a little caramel, unripe apple and grapefruit- not sure the grapefruit really goes. Slightly dry finish. Below par compared to what I’ve come to expect from this brewery, but not bad.

Cask at the Cross Keys, Covent Garden. Poured a clear dark amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is light caramel malt. The flavour is light bitter with a light watery skunky herby light barnyard malt palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation.
