As the first new beer to be brewed in Windsor for nearly 80 years GUARDSMAN is how we think every Best Bitter should taste. Guardsman is a lovely copper-coloured session strength ale with a tangy taste and a really fresh hop finish. It is brewed with premium Maris Otter pale malt and a blend of Pilgrim, Styrian Golding and Fuggles hops.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium amber orange color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, hay, straw, caramel, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus, flowers. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, hay - straw. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110325]

Bottle @ J&C, Friday session, 2011. Thanks. Pours clear golden with a small bubbly white head. Nose is hoppy and fruity. Harmonic. Flavor is fruit , exotic mango and grape - very fresh. Mild and quite simple - yet very tasty!

Cask at William Jolle Wetherspoons, Northwood Hills. A copper coloured pour with a small white head. Malty aroma. Tastes of dark fruit, caramel, thin. Rather bland run of the mill UK session ale.

Cask på Bree Louise, Euston 28 Sep 10. Mørk brun med en anelse rødt. Lavt stabilt skum. Fruktig aroma med litt malt. Lite kullsyre. Lett krydret på smak. Litt tørr fruktig ettersmak.

(Cask at Bree Louise, London) A normal bitter with clear nut flavour. Aroma was ok but nothing unsual. Drinkability was very good. The beer looked good, too.

Well kept ale from cask, half, at Bree Louise, Euston. Golden-brown body topped by a low, off-white head. Smell of caramel malts with underlying spices. Spiced fruits and malts in flavour added by notes of almond. Some dark fruits, too. Bittersweet endnotes (London, 28.09.2010)

Cask (Egham Beer Festival - Summer 2010) - Amber in colour. Peach and hops in the aroma. Hoppy and slightly metallic taste with peach, passion fruit and grapefruit.

Cask@Bishops Stortford Beer Festival 2010. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, earth, caramel malts, some wood, earth and sap. Flavour is very much the same. Quite balanced, but a bit too bland.

On gravity at the Great Welsh Beer & Cider festival, 10/06/10. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Fruity malt aroma, with a touch of apricot and grassy hops. Easy drinking, with plenty more fruit and long, bitter finish. Good.
