Mørk gyldenbrun. Luftig filmskum. Lett karamellaroma. Smaken mye smørmalt. Litt knekk. Søtlig tørr bitter avslutning.

Cask at Prince of Wales, Wimbledon. Dark brown colour, medium-sized off-white head. Caramel, nutty notes in the nose. Light-bodied. Watery, caramelly flavour. Light earthyness. Perhaps a little bit of nuttyness. Boring.

Cask at the New Inn, Brentford. Clear, dark copper colour, thin, white, creamy head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, toffee and fruity hints - blackcurrants, earthy hops, hints of cinnamon. Taste is sweet. Low carbonation. Sweet finish with caramel malts, fruits and a spicy hint. Nice.

9th Dec 2018. Hand-pulled pint at The Park, Wellington, Shropshire. Had this in bottle form years ago and wasn't impressed, so wasn't too sure about trying the cask version. Pleased to say this was a whole lot more interesting and better; still not very 'Christmassy' though. Rusty golden body, white crown on top. Aroma of malts and slight fruity esters, taste similar with a mild citrus leaning in the finish.

Cask at The Anchor Bankside. Pours dark ruddy copper with a beige head. Light spicy aroma. Near medium body. Flavor is roasty malt. Very, very mild Xmas spice. More Winter ale than Xmas ale. Not dry; not too malty. Moderately bitter. Decent.

Cask (handpump) @Wig and Pen, Oxford. Clear amber brown colour, small but steady beige head, heavy lacing. Aroma roasted malts, caramel, rye, dark bread. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, toffee, dark bread. Sweetbitter aftertaste, light spicy and raisin notes, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, decent but not that special.
