It’s been a minute … but 75 Minute IPA is back! What began as a cask-conditioned ale at our Rehoboth brewpub back in 2011, quickly grew to become a cult-favorite amongst craft enthusiasts. From the groucho glasses that adorned the label to it’s slightly dry and lingering bitterness, 75 Minute was (and is) beloved by many.
Now in our latest iteration, this classic IPA is again brewed with maple syrup from Sam’s family farm in Massachusetts, while being continually hopped throughout the boil, and then dry-hopped with a slew of cascade hops. The result is a malty and earthy brew with citrusy-pine aromas, balanced by subtle maple notes.

Bottle at Abraxas lounge, Miami Beach. It pours golden yellow, with a massive, long lasting white head. The nose is fresh pine, lots of sherbet, citrus pith and a touch of dough. The taste is sherbet, orange, tangerine, pine, dough, resin, raw hop and straw, with a bitter-dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and velvety mouth-feel. Well balanced and very easy drinking for the percentage. A very good IPA.

Capped 750 from Half Time. Pours light golden amber with a 3 finger creamy white head. Aroma is light pitted fruit. Med+ body. Flavor is citrus, light pitted fruit and mild roast malt with a little hint of maple. Guess I’m weak on maple. For me this is dry and hoppy. Finishing that way - though there did seem to be a maple hit for a second or less. This is really good for me. I’m getting a little nutty post-finish thing in my mouth. Or maybe not.

Bottle split with mora2000 at the Holy Grail. Pours with a hazed golden body with a massive, lasting white head with incredible lace, good retention, rings and rings of lace. Great looking beer. Aromas are herbal, honey, maple, dry, floral, citrus, hops, spice, mildly bready, and biscuity malt. Herbal and grassy hop character. Flavors are of honey, some biscuity malt, nicely balanced hop character, floral, citrus, grapefruit. Hoppy. Medium to livelier bubbles, dry, fuller bodied. East Coast.

Bottle thanks to Mike. Pours a clear copper color with a large, way too large head. A sweet rich fruity nose, some dust. A smooth, very sweet flavor, light candy and syrup, lemons and oranges, zesty at times. Very mellow. Very nice, smooth and tasty. Enjoyable and very flavorful.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with big white head. Aroma of maple syrup, cedar-like wood, caramel, and grapefruity hops. Flavour is a weird mix - doesn't seem like a mix of 60 and 90 minute qualities - citrus hops and cedar at the beginning, the maple syrup creeps in during the middle, and the finish goes back to the cedar, along with dry hops. Really bland to be honest and massively inferior to the 60 and 90 Minutes.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma consists of pine and light citrus hoppy notes with some sweet caramel malt. Taste is a mix between some medium hoppy notes with some citrus and resin notes backed by a solid and a bit too sweet caramelized malt backbone. Body is about average with medium carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not bad but definitely a bit too sweet which makes me wonder if maple syrup is really bringing anything worthwhile to the mix.

Chevy Chase, DC 750ml ($11): Pours an orange colour with a perfect looking head. Aroma is all fruity-like: pineapple, grapefruit. Taste is a wee bit on the sweet side. Hops are not overwhelming, but are flavourful and varied in character. This has a good malt character as well. I am not sure if I can go so far as to say that there is some roasted malts going up in here, but I can say with certitude that they are wicked dope. Mouthfeel is very much on the mellow side. This is ultimately an excellent, and moreover a rather subtly executed, IPA.

Pours slightly hazy burnt orange color with huge off white head. Alma’s of toasted malts, citrus and bread. Grapefruit and orange flavors with some toasted malts. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Pours deep mahogany into a Sam glass. White head with medium retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Mild resin aromas. Thick maple and resin upfront turning to caramel in the lasting finish.
