Brewed with Pumpkin and Spices (Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cardamom, Cloves). This 8.0% ABV pumpkin ale is heartier, spicier, and more caramelly and pumpkiny than its faint brethren! Perfect finisher on a cool autumn night, or match it up with a slice of pumpkin pie and fresh whipped cream. If you don't agree this is the mother of all pumpkin ales, then you just don't like mothers!

Shared a 12 oz. bottle. Pours dark copper with a medium off-white head. The aroma is distinctly pumpkin, with caramel, nutmeg and cinnamon. Tastes very sweet, with a little bitterness in the finish. The palate is medium to heavy, grainy, and clean. Overall, this is a good pumpkin ale, with enough pumpkin flavor, but not overwhelming or to the detriment of the beer.

Probably the best pumpkin ale I’ve had so far. Doesn’t fall into the traps that other ones do by trying to be too sweet or too spicy, this remains an ale at it’s heart and uses the flavors to it’s advantage rather than letting them dominate the overall flavor.

Plenty of fall beers can be described as "pumpkin pie in a bottle." None come closer to a literal interpretation of this phrase as Weyerbacher’s Imperial Pumpkin Ale. The spices are almost as thick as the beer itself, a liquid that plops into the glass like a melted milkshake. The sweetness knows no bounds, as the caramel and toffee malts are egged on by the spicerack unleashed upon them. This beer grows too much by the second swig. A second glass is unthinkable. Your burps will taste like nutmeg for weeks to come. (11/08)

Bottle. Poured a clear amber orange with a white head that dissipated slowly and laced slightly. Aroma had a nice pumpkin note as well as lots of backing spice, particularly cardamon. Flavor had a nice earthy pumpkin note that was balanced by a nice spice combination. Beer was quite smooth.

12 oz. bottle. Pint glass. Deep orange pour , thin white head ,minimal lace. Aroma is nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger . Sweet caramel malt ,spices pumpkin and clove flavor .Lingering spice (cinnamon) and pumpkin in the finish .a very sweet finish but not over powering sweet. Light bodied , light carbonation. They cover the alcohol very well. This could be the best pumpkin of the season however, I haven’t gotten Southern Tier yet. Over all strong effort.

Tap at the Ginger Man. Pours hazy amber-orange with a moderate, off-white head. Strong pumpkin aroma with some sweet malts. Flavor is quite sweet and rife with pumpkin and spice character. Full-bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with lingering pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg along with some mild alcohol warmth. Excellent.

12 fl oz bottle, courtesy of fiulijn. Pours hazy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma is nutmeg and ginger spiced. Sweet and light caramelish and light roasted. Lingering caramelish and spiced flavoured into the finish. Easy and nicely balanced pumpkin spices and malt base.

Hazy amber color. Mellow aroma of cinnamon and caramel, light vegetables. Sweet caramel flavor, with some cinnamon; bold body and warming alcohol. The final has too much vegetables. It’s definitively not my style, yet it’s not terrible.

Amber color. It has the obvious cinnamon aroma, wax, perfumy, lightly soapy. Medium body strength (less than the alcohol content and the name let expect); light caramel flavor and evident cinnamon; ordinary bitterness; dry finish, still with some cinnamon. I’m bored by cinnamon beers.
Guys, next year try something else than cinnamon with pumpkin, maybe bitter almonds…
