Served on cask at the brewpub on 5/7/11. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized creamy white head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of floral, leafy and earthy hop notes. The taste is bitter floral and leafy hops with some toasted malts. Medium bodied. Lingering bitterness.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 6/10/11
Aroma: The nose is hoppy with pine, floral, citrus, and earth notes to it
Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden color with a decently lacy white head
Flavor: Tastes fairly dry and hoppy, with the pine and earth flavors being the most prevelant
Palate: The body is medium, with average carbonation, and a slightly rough finish that is also quite dry
Overall Impression: It thought that this one was a solid dry APA that is leaning in the direction of an IPA. It works pretty well for what it is trying to be, nothing too complex or crazy just a fairly hoppy/dry APA.

Mad Fox cask 4oz: Pours a golden color with a white head. A lot of people are raving about this beer, but I don’t really think that I was impressed. Granted, I drank this in about two minutes, but I didn’t see a huge amount of flavor. Obviously the mouthfeel was pretty low carbonation because it was a cask ale. Hops were relatively subdued. Got some citrus in there. Nothing was bad in this beer, but ultimately, I did not find it too interesting.

On tap at the brewpub on 09/26/2010. Somewhat hazy copper body with a small creamy off-white head. Sweet citrus and floral hop aroma with a light caramel background. Firm citrus and floral hop flavor on a pale malt background with a lingering hop bitterness. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Sampled at NoVA Summer Brewfest. Finally getting around to rating this one. Poured a dark, clear orange color with a medium-to-full white head. Aroma is hoppy pines, with a subtle citrus hit to it. Flavor is a rich, well balanced one, with a rounded malt and citrus character. This was certainly one of my more favorite ones at the festival, and was quite refreshing on a roughly 90 degree day. I look forward to trying this one at the brewpub.
