With a brilliant, deep copper hue and creamy beige-colored head, our Fall Hornin’ Pumpkin Ale has inviting aromas of caramelized malt and baking bread with highlights of cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin and seasonal spices. The pleasantly creamy mouthfeel and silky body embrace the sweet caramel flavors and tang of spices (with just hint of hops) that ends in a smooth, round finish.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 10/17/13

Aroma: The nose is spice (nutmeg, clove) and dough, not as much pumpkin pie or cinnamon
Appearance: It pours a clear reddish-orange color with a frothy beige head and medium lace
Flavor: The flavor is similar, spice and doughy malts, some sweetness, minimal bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, it's a little too carbonated, and it has a mildly dry finish
Overall Impression: After drinking Shock Top's atrocity of a pumpkin beer, I wanted to drink something that actually had some pumpkin taste. This is a heck of a lot better than that beer, but it isn't a special pumpkin beer by any means.

Bottle. Pours brown with an inch of tan head. Smells of luscious pumpkin pie spices - clove, nutmeg, cinnamon - and pumpkin crust and cream. Tastes of crust, cinnamon, and pumpkin. The aroma is stronger than the taste, but this is still good.

From a 12 oz can courtesy of Kermis. Pours a clear amber with a thick off white head. Light pumpkin pie spice in the nose. Pumpkin and pie spices dominate the flavor.

12oz can courtesy of Anndiesel. Deep filtered copper-amber body, big frothy off-white/beige head. Big pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice aroma. Medium to full bodied, as a little more malt depth than a typical pumpkin beer., but at the same time the filtration kind of hollows out the body, leaving it a little empty. Has a little bit of a tinny residue...can’s aren’t really that great of a thing for beer. OK.

Bottle. Ginger, pumpkin malt, cinnamon, and a little faint chocolate aroma. Chestnut with a huge creamy beige head. Toasty caramel malt, heavy cinnamon, and ginger flavor with an herbal bitter finish. Just another heavily spiced pumpkin ale.

Whole Foods, Bowery can ($2): Pours amber brown with a beige head. Aroma is nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel malts, and chocolate. Taste is sweet, but not too much. Medium body. Nice combination of pumpkin flavors. Spicy and well-balanced.

12oz bottle pours with a clear amber body that has copper to gold edges and supports a tan head. The aroma offers up a load of winter spices like a little nutmeg and cinnamon rolling quickly into firm pumpkin notes. The taste is big with winter spiced cake notes but luckily the notes aren’t too bright. Under the spiciness is a nice layer of pumpkin. Pleasing fairly rich brew. Not sure I’m in the mood for it today though.

Pumpkin and cinnamon nose, good intensity. Clear tea colored, medium head with little retention. Flavor is pumpkin and nutmeg, dry but flavorful. Barely perceptible cinnamon finish. Filmy mouthfeel. Very respectable.
