  Bock - Doppelbock Regular
Score
7.54
ABV: 6.9% IBU: - Ticks: 247
One of the two beers brewed at the monastery (the other one is the Barock Dunkel). The Weltenburger Asam Bock owes its name to the brilliant, baroque painter and master builder Cosmas Damian Asam. The malt-emphasized goat exudes light roasted aromas that give a hint of coffee. Friends and connoisseurs particularly appreciate it for its strong, sweet, very aromatic and persistent taste. With its 6.9% alcohol content, it is the strongest barley juice from the Weltenburg family.

2018 bottle at a share. Pours dark brown, with a big, frothy, beige head. The nose is mild cacao, a touch of peat smoke, brown sugar, and caramel. Sweet and malty, with a light bitterness. Medium body, with a syrupy, sharp palate. This is a mellow and quality bock.

0,33 bottle.
Very nice deep maroon color with light brown nice, surprisingly durable foam. Label is okay too. Caramel, pumpkin, slightly coffee, sweet roasted aroma with very little fruitiness in the background. Extremely delicious! Already a first sip of full-bodied, very delicate classic brown double-legged taste. It is really brown, because this is the feel of the body of caramel malt, because of the aromas of stew, coffee, caramel, but also the delicate hops and fruity flavors due to the delicate hops and the many malts. Carbonic acid is barely, yet firss, and drinkable despite 6.9%. Outstanding beer!

Bottle from the Elsfleth Hol-ab. Dark, dark brown with a frothy head that soon fades. Rich, malty aroma full of caramel, raisins, licorice and a hint of spiced chocolate. Nice. Tastes much the same, mostly sweet with a mild and dry bitterness at the finish. Full bodied and chewy with mild carbonation, no sign of the alcohol. Excellent. Possibly my new favorite Doppelbock.
