Klosterbrauerei Weltenburg in Kelheim, Bavaria, Germany 🇩🇪

  Bock - Doppelbock Regular
Score
7.54
ABV: 6.9% IBU: - Ticks: 247
One of the two beers brewed at the monastery (the other one is the Barock Dunkel). The Weltenburger Asam Bock owes its name to the brilliant, baroque painter and master builder Cosmas Damian Asam. The malt-emphasized goat exudes light roasted aromas that give a hint of coffee. Friends and connoisseurs particularly appreciate it for its strong, sweet, very aromatic and persistent taste. With its 6.9% alcohol content, it is the strongest barley juice from the Weltenburg family.

0,5 flaske fra helsekosten i Verksgata, delt med skibsrederen under jobbing på Joffen juli-18: klar, mørk mahognyfarge med fint skum som varer. Mørk, karamellaktig aroma med mørke bær i tillegg. Men smaken - voi, voi! Superlekker med stor fylde og glede. Mørke karameller, dessertchokolader, bær, urter og nøtter. Superb, saftig ettersmak.

On tap at Prost!, Boise Deep dark brown. Full dense light beige head. Dark toasted bread aroma malty and some dark caramel flavors. A bit more sharp roast than other dopplebicks I’ve had. Moderate body and smooth light roast trailer. Not as big or as sweet as others also.

Man, I'm loving the thick stuff lately. How does one create such a hefty yet delicately balanced bit of art? Mad love for such geniuses.
