Since Saint Joseph’s Day on 19 March 1993, Andechs Weissbier Hell has found many new friends. Untreated and bottled in its natural state of yeasty turbidity, this is a top fermented beer for the epicure.
Its light honey colour makes it an immediate eyecatcher. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. At the same time, the creamy, fine pored head invites you to get to know this light Weissbier from the Holy Mountain. You’ll need two takes to enjoy the aromas to the full.
First, distinctive fruity aromas like banana and honeydew melon come to the fore, followed by fine cloves. Andechser Weissbier Hell is a very tangy, refreshing treat with the conviction of a full, soft body. It concludes on a finely balanced interplay of light sweet honey and a delicate acidity with undertones of bitter hoppiness that quickly subside into a harmonious aftertaste.

Smell of yeast, wheat, banana. Cloudy beige colour, white head. Aroma of bread, overripe fruit, some yeast, some banana. Very balanced. Sweet. Flat carbon. Velvety palate. An awesome weizen, haven't had a this great one in ages.

Bottle 500ml (Beer Hunters). Bright orange, medium-bodied steady white head. Banana, clove in the nose. Medium-bodied. Sweetish banana, clove, bubblegum. Very classic hefeweizen flavour. You can't improve this much with standard ingredients.

On tap at Man in the Moon, late September 2017. Hazy dark golden with a medium white head. Aroma of banana, yeast and clove. The same in the taste. Refreshing and easy to drink.

Fles gedeeld met Roelzie1986, het is een zomers oranje bier met een volle schuimkraag. Het heeft een zachte smaak, beetje gist achtig en hints van banaan. Redelijk wat depot in de fles.

From the barrel at source. Pours hazy yellow orange with a solid white head. Aroma is orange, clove, a little banana and grain. Taste is not too Sour and not too sweet, banana, cloves and spices. Nice and refreshing. Carbonation decent. Good stuff

From the barrel at Andechs, 16/07/17. Hazed orange golden with a well appointed creamy white head. Nose is banana, caramel, clove, bread notes, light spice. taste comprises orange peel, banana bread, caramel, clove, yeast esters. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid Hefe ... great bitter sweet balance.
