Tap. Pours clear ruby brown with a small tan head and good lacing. Aroma is caramel, molasses with notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and other spices. Flavor is the same, medium sweet and light bitter citrus with a light bitter finish. Quite nice, actually.

Bottle. Pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove aroma. Clear deep copper with a small ivory head. Clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, and malty pumpkin flavor, a little bitterness in the finish. Medium body, slightly dry boozy finish. An okay pumpkin ale, but a little too spice heavy for my taste.

Aroma: Nose has some pumpkin spice, nutmeg, and malt to it
Appearance: Pours a dark amber-brown color, small off-white head
Flavor: The taste is mostly pumpkin spice, with a light sweetness, and a light bitterness
Palate: The body is fairly clean, with average carbonation, and a pretty smooth finish
Overall Impression: Overall, I found this one to be a very solid pumpkin ale. I'm a pretty big pumpkin beer fan in general, but in my opinion, this is certainly worth drinking again.

Bottle. Pours a deep orange with a medium decent head and aromas of... well... wait for it... pumpkin pie. Spices and pumpkin. Flavor is a nice mix of the aforementioned things with just a bit of warmth (ABV). It is clean and finishes smooth. Something is kind of luxurious about the palate on this one. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s very nice.

Draft. Deep amber body with a fizzy, off-white head. The aroma is spicy with notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and all spice. All that alongside meaty pumpkin. And some toasted grain. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Tastes are similar to the aroma: spice and pumpkin — and some peppery alcohol notes in the finish. This is like drinking a rich pumpkin pie made with lots of cream. The 8% alcohol shows up in the finish. Couldn’t drink a lot of this because of the sweetness. Close to being cloying.

Bottle. Pumpkin, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg aroma. Dark amber color with moderately head. Pumpkin malt initially followed by the spices: nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon. Nice spicy aftertaste. Very good.

Whole Foods, P St, DC sixer ($13): Pours a reddish color with a small, thin beige head. Aroma is pretty big. Cinnamon, nutmeg, sugary malts, are amongst the things I smell. This is a really malty ale. Maybe it is a little bit too sweet. Lots of spices are present throughout the taste. It has a kind of buttery mouthfeel. Basically, this is miles better than most pumpkin ales that exist and especially better than those I had most recently. Might be a little too much for some people though.

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a lager glass. Pours a dark orange with about 1 finger of off-white head. Aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Smells just like pumpkin pie. Taste is medium sweet. Tastes strongly of pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg. It tastes just like pumpkin pie in a bottle. Slightly aftertaste of vanilla. Medium bodied with a thick and creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish of cinnamon. Overall, it’s a very good beer. I couldn’t drink more than a couple of these but it could easily take the place of any after dinner drink. Something worth seeking out.
