12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA, opened 9/5/10. Pours a clear reddish amber color with a medium tan head that fades quickly. The aroma is pumpkin and big spice notes, including nutmeg, ginger and clove. The taste is pumpkin and fresh baked gingerbread. Cinnamon, nutmeg and other spices. Medium bodied. Damn good, and a contender for my favorite pumpkin ale ever. Nice job.

Great deep amber coloured body with a bright orange glow when held up to a light and a lush, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pumpkin pie spice, strong cinnamon, a bunch of hops (awesome to smell) and a bit of yeast. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong assertive malt, caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg and pumpkin are very noticeable throughout this. Chunky, chewy mouthful afterwards with a lot of sweetness, noticeable pumpkin and a good spicy character. Overall, a very nice and well done beer that shows a lot of complexity and pretty much everything you’d want from a pumpkin beer. This one sits strong and deep, just like a meal - so if you want a beer that’s almost like a meal or a bit to eat - drink this! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Bon Vivant Market in Smithfield, Virginia on 14-October-2010 for US$2.80 sampled at home in Washington on 21-October-2010.

Pronounced cinnamon and pumpkin aroma with clove accents. Clear orange, medium yellow head. Lots of cinnamon on the front end. Greater pumpkin notes appear later with nutmeg. Medium body. Much more cinnamon than most pumpkin spice beers. Exceptional for the style.

12 oz goblet at the Schlafly Bottleworks in St Louis, Missouri. Pour is brown amber copper, slight haze, more or less no head. Aroma is spiced nutmeg, cinnamon, a touch of the pumpkin. Taste is pretty heavily spiced, nutmeg mostly, followed behind by pumpkin and a touch toasty malt. Certainly a pumpkin beer, perhaps more heavy handed than I prefer. It is very fresh and clean tasting. Palate is medium to heavy bodied, spritzy carbonation, spiced lingering aftertaste. Overall, really nice version of a style I am not usually crazy about.

Draught at Churchkey. Clear brown, no head, no lacing. Aroma is subtle spice. Taste is chewy, warm pumpkin pie with a dollop of cream on top. Not usually my thing, but this is one of the best tasting pumpkin beers I have ever had.

Only sampled from a 12oz. bottle. Poured a clear, dark copper color, small white head. Aroma is spice: nutmeg, cinnamon. Also smelled a bready, almost like pie crust. Flavor was a bit sweet, relatively balanced. Alcohol is well hidden.

This beer is a clear copper-orange color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon aroma. Medium body with flavors of pumpkin, malt, ginger and other spices. The finish is all pumpkin pie flavors. Overall a tasty pumpkin beer.

Scored this as an extra via trade. Let it be known, I am very skeptical of pumpkin beers. 12oz bottle pours a transparent orange, amber with a wispy white head that faded quick. Cold, the aroma was of raw pumpkin. Once it warmed up the spice came through the nose, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, with a hint of alcohol. Flavor was sweet, caramel malts, caramel sugar, squash, spices. Finish is sticky. All in all, a pretty good pumpkin beer. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Poured an amber orange with a darkish off-white head. Aroma was full of pumpkin pie notes with lots of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger accompanying the pumpkin. Flavor mirrors the aroma beautifully. A nice medium mouthfeel makes this by far my favorite pumpkin beer.

bottle, tanks beastiefan, pours a blood orange color with a thin white head. The aroma is wonderful. Pumpkin pie all the way, pumpkin, spice and cinnamon. Light body with a toasted malt character but the flavors are all pumpkin pie again. Lots of pumpkin, spice and sweetness. Lingering spice in the finish. I like this one.
