Bottle. Dark brown-black beer with a brown head. Hoppy aroma with backing light roast and chocolate. Chocolate and light espresso flavor with licorice and piney hops. Medium bodied. Some bitterness. Licorice and light choclate lingers with pine and a light earthiness. It just doesn’t do it for me - too many different flavors.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma has strong notes of roasted malt and citrusy/grapefruity hops as well as medium notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of chocolate, roasted malt, and citrusy hops, the roasted malt grows in intensity towards the end, and becomes almost burnt, and leads to a very bitter and roasted finish - seems like the bitterness comes mainly from the roasted malt. The alcohol leaves a slight burn in top of the throat.

Bottled (Pikkulintu, brygget 01/2009, batch #407). Brewed @Niogne O. Opaque black, small steady cocoa tan head, good lacing. Hops, licorice and roasted notes. Taste has lots of licorice, some hops, but more roasted than bitter. Long roasted, licorice aftertaste. More stout/impy than ASA. A bit wineous. Probably beer which would be interesting to age. This is like drinkable version of Dark Horizon 2nd edition :)
