On tap at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It pours a black body under a small, brown head. Some salty licorice, roasted malts and coffee, as well as citrusy hops in the aroma. The flavor has some alcohol and a fine sweetness, yet feels rather dry. Coffee, hints of licorice and citrusy hops too. Nice bitterness. Smooth, velvety, full-bodied, dry and warming mouthfeel. The finish has a lovely citrus-peel like bitterness and roasted malts giving some bitterness too. A lovely one, blending dark malts and hops in a delicious way. Rating: 8-4-8-5-16-4.1. 090517
Bottle. A dark, more or less black beer with a bit, creamy, tan head that lasts. Citrusy, piney nose with citrus-peel and resins, roasted malts, chocolate and licorice. The flavor is pretty much the same, roasted base with lots of hops up front, and a good bitterness taking you to the finish. No lack of malts either in the finish. Full-bodied and quite dry, yet with a sweetish impression. A lovely beer I wish was more readily available. 090912

Totally black color. Nice American hops aroma, overall too aggressive roasted malt flavor, against the hops, even if it has a very smooth mouthfeel. Quite dry final, with ashes… Not impressive.

Black with a lasting tan head. Delicious hop aroma, signature Columbus floral and pine notes, along with roasted aromas, certainly not unlike Nøgne Ø’s Imperial Stout. Flavoour is somewhat sweet, dark chocolate and hops dominate. Delicious hoppy bitter finish.

Bottled@Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Pitch black colour, mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is chocolate, some mild hops and quite much nuttyness and slight fruityness lruking in the background. Flavour is quite much roasted malts, some soour wooden notes as well as mmild grassyness. Pleasantly balanced.

Bottled, thanks Baggio! Completely black. Huge on grapefruit and asphalt. Dry and tarry .Full bodied with dense mouthfeel. A spanking flavour of condensed asphalt grapefruit. Hugely bitter finish. A beer that sticks out!

Bottle 50 cl. Pours completely opaque black with a tiny, off-white head. Hard roasted malt with some aroma hops. Quite full-bodied with hard roasted malts, dried fruit, a little ashes and a fairly hoppy finish. Interesting. 160509
