Pours a cloudy dark brown color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, sweet malt and dark chocolate. The finish is roasty up front with a resiny hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle shared with Veitafan. Has a pitch black colour with light beige head. Fruity hops in the aroma along with grapefruits, and some coffee and liqueur. Theres also some chocolate in the background. More fruit, grass and hops in the mouth, and anis in the end. The mouthfeel is soft, and a medium to heavy bitterness. In my opinion this ale is mostly a rich and well-balanced IPA.

500ml bottle. Black colour with average, frothy, tan head. Hoppy aroma, a spicy touch, underlying dark malty notes with a roasty touch. Taste is citrussy hoppy, bitter and slightly peppery spicy, green onions, hints of coffee on the dark malty side. Nice.

Black colour with a beige head. Lovely aroma with some caramel, rich hoppy and a fine fruity note. Rich beautiful complex flavour. Fruity and malty. Lots of citric hoppiness. Outstanding!

Draft @ When Pigs Fly. Served in a stem glass. Pitch black with exceptional retention. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, and roast. Flavor is lots of roasted malt and chocolate with a huge burst of fresh citrus hops balances the brew to be on a perfect line between rich roast and bitter, fresh hops. The body and overall feel makes this lean on a very hoppy stout. Texture is dry and has tones of ash. If you find this on draft; order one without hesitation. Excellent!

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with a small beige head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is pine and floral hops. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet roast malt with light hop and bitter finish. Hides alcohol decently, a good Black IPA from De Proef.

Draft at the Lord Nelson Copenhagen. A light head but with very heavy lacing. Almost no aroma. Heavily hopped and a slightly sour metallic taste. Served cool which suited the beer. A little on the strong side at 8.5% so it deserves some respect, and not to be drunk in pints which I learnt to my cost :-) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of burnt malt, chocolate, coffee, pine and light hops. Same aspects in flavour, moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and carbonation. A really great black IPA.

Fra fat på DØE festivalen: et interessant øl hvor maltsødmen tas over av en sammensatt bitterhet. Ganske friskt til å være en Dark IPA.

500ml bottle from Wine and Cheese Place poured into a shaker. Pours black with two fingers of dark brown head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, caramel and honey. So far it looks like an imperial stout and smells like an IIPA. Taste is medium bitter. Lots of citrus hops with a huge amount of roasty malt. Like a porter that dresses up in his big sisters clothes...this beer isn’t sure what it wants to be. Full bodied with a thick texture. Lively carbonation and a long bitter finish. Overall, this one is great. I would love to try this again some time in the future.
