This is a classic American Porter, poured on tap it has a good head that stays and leaves a nice lace. It is defined by its chocolate malt, medium body, and smooth mouthfeel. Balanced by the Golding and Columbus hops on the finish is a hint of bitterness. Don’t be afraid of the dark.

Side by side w/ Highland Oatmeal Porter. This was thin compared to the Highland Porter. Huge off white head on a deep brown beer. Aroma was malt/bread/cookie with a flavor that was balanced with a short uninteresting finish.

Dark brown in colour with a dense tan head. Smells of malt and grapes-pretty nice. Strong maltiness with a decent amount of sweetness. Aftertate fairly malty and pretty bittering. Overll, pretty good for the style...another good showing from Sweetwater. I had this beer on draught at Summit's in Sandy Springs (Atlanta), Georgia on 25-September-2003.

Thanks to aracauna for the trade. Nice dark brown (almost black) pour with a thick dark beige head. Nice lacing throughout the glass. Aroma is lightly smoky under malt and coffee. Somewhat rich with a nice blend of coffee, chocolate, and malt. The finish is a little sharp, maybe even hoppy. This is a solid beer, and my only problem with it would be a lack of refinement.

Muddy coloured; cappucino aroma - frothy milk, light roast, even vague chocolate. Palate fades quickly but shows a little bit of bitter chocolate.
