Narwhal Imperial Stout is inspired by the mysterious creature that thrives in the deepest fathoms of the frigid Arctic Ocean. Rich with notes of espresso, baker’s cocoa, roasted grain and a light hint of smoke, Narwhal brims with malt complexity. Aggressive but refined with a velvety smooth body and decadent finish, Narwhal will age in the bottle for years to come.

Draught, Darby's DTES. Dark brown. Medium head. Nutty, chocolatey aroma, with maybe a touch of dark fruit. Dark burnt fruit, solid alcohol signature. Decent, but doesn't entirely come together for me - it's ok but it does seem like it's missing something.

A really nice imperial stout without a massive, heady booziness. Some fruit, lots of dry malt, dark chocolate, coffee, a touch of aniseed maybe? Really nice.

Yep, really bloody good. Bottled 26 months ago. I was expecting a shade more oomph, but I really enjoyed this.

0.355 l bottle from 'Craft Beer Dealer', 2016 vintage, cellared for almost two years. Pitch black with a medium large, frothy, stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of chocolate, hazelnut, coffee, some licorice and a touch of vanilla. Medium sweet, malty, gently roasty, rather bitter taste of chocolate, coffee, licorice, burnt bread crust, some vanilla and hints of tobacco, followed by a long, rather roasty-bitter, earthy-dry and warming finish, already showing some signs of oxidation. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Really heavy beer, quite surprising too me as I expected a rather mainstream-oriented one. Would love to try a BA version!

Tap @ Colter Bay. Black. Roasted malts, cattle feed, umami, grainy, dried spent grains. Medium bodied. Some bitterness and dryness. Pretty good.

Bottle. Misty deep brown to black. Beige head. Aroma: big malts, roast, molasses, esters. Vinous. Medium to full body. Taste: light sweet. Rich maltiness. Dried fruit. Port wine. Some caramel. Well-hopped. Perfect. That's what I mean by a classic imperial stout.
