The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate, soy sauce, hints of anise, and some roasted malts. The beer is not too heavy or too extreme, and it is not likely an imperial stout either, seeing as the alcohol is a mere 7.5%. That said, it is a nice bittersweet beer with a pleasant body and excellent balance.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s post GBBF minidig, 16/08/14 as Satin Solstice from an IP trade. Opaque dark mahogany brown with moderate tan edgeing. Nose is cocoa nibs, bourbon barrel notes, dark toffee. Taste comprises dark toffee fudge, spice, earthy roast, chocoalte. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with lightly roasted vibes. Ok a bit past its former glory perhaps.

Bottle sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Loads of coffee and chocolate all up in this beer. Very good, I’ll be buying a decent amount of this this winter.
