Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, caramel, bread, nuts and hops.

From a 12 oz bottle shared with Kermis. From a bottle with the "solstice" label. Pours black with a tan head. Nose of chocolate and coffee. Flavors include some licorice. Moderate carbonation and mouthfeel. Bitter finish.

Bottle shared thanks to iphonephan. Pours near black with a small beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate, caramel, roast, toffee, a little dark fruit. Flavour is light heavy sweet and bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle. Pours opaque black, large brown head, nice lacing. Aroma is coffee, roast, bit of cigarettes. Flavor is the same, light sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium to full body, somewhat creamy. Just a bit of astringence. Pretty good, actually.

2006 Bottle. Opaque black stout. Aged malt nose. Softish palate. Aged malt start with some unsweet chocolate underneath. Slightly tangy before a quiet echo of hops in the finish. Hangs together okay in a ’wee heavy’ sort of way!

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Tripplebrew. Notch on label says brewed in JUL. Used a snifter. Small tan, head that died to nothing within a few minutes. Light CO 2. Very pleasant roasted chocolate malt nose. Bitter chocolate, coffee hints and a very nice dark fruit (Raisin or plum). The dark fruit is a nice accent in the finish. A bit thinner body for an Impy Stout, but what it lacks in body, it makes up for in taste. A nice drinkability and if I had another bottle, I would reach of it right now. This is a nice winter warmer indeed!

Bottle - thanks SpencerDB. Dark brown pour with a thin ring of brown head. Roasty aroma has tones of chocolate, espresso, and ash. More of the roasted malt comes through in the flavor with a little less ash and a little more chocolate. A slight earthy element with light bitters. Interesting...

$1.50 single bottle at Binny’s. Kicks up some nice brown foam over a black body. Smell is again more coffee (what’s with these guys and coffee beer?), with a bit of unsweetened cocoa on the side. Taste shows this is at the lower end of an imperial beer. Plenty of coffee cordial taste, a little less bitter than the nose. Nice stickiness building on my lips. Some citrussy hops way in the background.

12oz Bottle Pours out dark brown topped with a small tan head. Aroma was of chocolate, dark roast, coffee, and light pit fruit. Taste is sweet and rich as the aroma along with a little bitterness on the end. Overall a pretty good imp stout.
