12 oz bottle sent to me by my 2010 winter Secret Santa. Pour is a hazed ruby, touches of brown, fairly dark black. Aroma is roast malt, a bit sweet and not much else. Taste is the roast malt, along with ever so slight soy sweetness, finishes with some heat and cane sugar. Palate is medium bodied with a high level of frothy carbonation. Finishes with the sweet malt and cane sugar. Kind of a weird Imperial Stout. Thanks for sending this one Santa!

Bottle, thanks to an off-site co-worker bringing it into town. Poured a medium dark brown color with a small off-white head that dissipated greatly. Aroma was coffee, chocolate, roasted malts. Flavor was toasted malts, coffee. A very interesting imperial stout.

Courtesy of trimon77 pouring deep murky brown with thin tan head. The aroma has dark roasted malts, chocolate bar, brown sugar and graham cracker. The taste is smooth with a mix of chocolate, roasty malts, a touch of rauch possibly, sweet malts and then ending with a growing sense of dark roasted coffee.

Bottle at Bodega Brew Pub in La Crosse. The beer is a deep murly brown color with a medium light tan head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of strong coffee along with chocolate. Medium, creamy body with flavors of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and a hint of hops. The finish is roasty with a lingering coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle. Ruby brown body, clear. Frothy, tan head that rapidly diminishes. Interesting aroma of mild coffee and dark chocolate. Hints of burnt toast and floral hops. Undercurrent of funky earthiness. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes moderately sweet, moderately bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body with a watery texture that turns creamy in the finish. Lively carbonation. This is a beer that makes a good first impression with its pleasing sweet chocolate taste. But the sweetness sticks around way past its welcome and by ounce number four, I am thinking cloying. It’s unpleasant riding on top of its smoky/burnt/alcohol taste.

Bottle courtesy of CaptainCougar - thanks! Very dark maroon, medium brown head that settles quickly. Subtle chocolate syrup aroma with a bit of vanilla. Taste is bitter dark chocolate. Decent stuff.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a large light brown color head with good retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of dry coffee and black chocolate with a dry malt base. Taste is a mix between some nondescript roasted malt notes with bland dry coffee notes and some black chocolate. Body is too light for style with great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. A bit of a disappointment with a body that is too thin and no complexity.
