For our latest anniversary beer we wanted to give hops some time off and try a spin on the classic Scottish Wee Heavy style. Expect thick, sweet caramel flavours smothered over figs and prunes and a warming finish that makes this the perfect drink to sip as the colder days approach us. 'Wee' might mean small in Scotland but this beer is nothing but big! As always drink now or age for several years for even more added complexity.

Bottled (from Systembolaget Umeå). Copper colour, not much head. Aroma is metallic, some eathy and herbal notes. Flavour is spicy, nutty, some dried fruits and mild warming alcohol. Spices stay for quite long in the finish.

Bottled 330ml (Systembolaget)
Dark brown colour, small beige head. Odd aroma of caramel, metal and wet dog. Medium-bodied. Flavour is better: caramel, raisins, some metal and alcohol. Kind of unbalanced.

330ml bottle kindly shared by djoeye. Dark orange coloured body, faint lacing from a filmy layer. Dried fruity nose, grainy. Solid taste profile of dried fruits including figs and prunes. Mid-sweet jam-like ending. Smooth on the swallow. Slow drinking with sipper qualities. (Rating session with djoeye and Finn, Tromsø 14.11.2018).

Flaske spandert av djoeye. Delt med ham og Rune på Nerstranda. Gusjesvart. Filmskum. Aroma av søte bær. Smaken søt frukt. Uvariert & for søt.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Mahogany colour, small head. Aroma of apple brandy and caramel. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Bready with butter and viola. Rather deep malt character. Low bitterness.
