Yeah, it’s that good! HFS is our GABF 2016 Bronze medal winner in the Strong Ale category. This West Coast-style American IPA is light bodied and full of hop flavor and aroma. It pours a pale gold with a light, fluffy, off-white head. Featuring a combination of Mosaic, Simcoe, and Citra hops, HFS presents a bold tropical fruit explosion with hints of grass and pine balanced by a light and bready malt character.

Poured up on tap at RBWG16 where it exhibits a nice clear deep gold body that supports a near white head of foam. The aroma offers up mango and pineapple tropical fruitiness as well as a bit of onion-y spice and then a dash of cantaloupe. The taste is a bit more spicy dank earthy onion forward than the aroma. Around the dankness are notes of mango, tangelo, some pineapple and then kind of drying resiny hop bitterness toward the finish. Wow. Delicious.

On tap at Green Flash Cellar 3. It pours a light gold color with a white head. The aroma is strongly citrusy with orange, grapefruit and lemon. The flavor is very grapefruit forward with bright notes of flowers and light spicy bitterness. Really tasty. The Alpine IPA’s seem to be rounding into form under Green Flash.

[1/27/16] Draught at City Beer in San Francisco. Clear golden. Lovely hoppy aroma with tropical fruits, kinda "green", and some onion. Flavor has mild sweetish malt, fruity, "green" and oniony hops, and moderate bitterness. Medium-bodied.

Keg at RB Best Festival, 31/01/16. Rate #15 K. Clear golden with a decent off white cap. Nose is peach, light floral notes, juicy hops, tangerine, toasted bread, melon, straw. Taste comprises pine needle, dank hop strokes, tangerine, mellow grapefruit, hint of leafy hop, orange pith. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with semi aggressive hop bitterness. Super solid IPA ... best beer of the fest for me.
