Bottled, from Dicey Reillys, Ballyshannon. Clear dark brown, rich firm head. Brown sugar and caramel up front. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Bready and fruity, caramel and flowers. Mid bitter finish. Very pale for a porter.

At a tasting, thanks, smallish bubbly head, murky brown color, aroma of kvass and dark bread with some caramel, metalic bready flavor with some rubber and honey, coarse bitterness. Old and light, not good.

Many thanks to Beersiveknown!! The beer starts dark and malty. Intense dry with a nice roasted body. Not too easy to drink, but round and smooth. Nice malty bitter aftertaste, dry, fresh and round. But I miss a bit the typical sourish Stout characteristic. Nice.

Bottle from Bradley’s, Cork [291114]
Nice fluffy beige head
Aroma of sweet fruits, soft red berries, slight blackcurrant, no roast, very fruity
Taste of fruity malts, dab of chocolate, some fruity red berries, fruity Belgian yeast, nice soft dark malts, quite complex, better than last bottle
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, soft sweet, smooth texture. Finish as main flavour, dark fruits, some fruity plain chocolate
Overall - Good fruity stout, with fruity Belgian yeast. Up to 3.6.

Bottle @ EBBC 2014 [280614] 7/3/7/3/13 3.3
Dark brown, gushed, tan bubbly head, quickly dissipates
Aroma - Dark fruits, some blackberry, very soft roast, very fruity
Taste of soft dark malts, blackberry, soft plain dark chocolate, very mellow roast, very fruity, not a lot of dark malt flavour
Palate - soft carb, body a bit thin, quite sweet palate. Finish as main flavour.
Overall - Found this a bit thin...Need to get a full bottle to re-rate as just had couple of sips
