EBC 44.

bottle at home from trade with bartlebier, many thanks Frank :) dark amber, quite hazy, almost cloudy color. small tan head. smells of honey, (dried) fruity, plums, malty sweetness, light alcoholic, liqueurish. full body, rather bubbly, full / light oily / bubbly mouthfeel. tastes yeasty, fruity, plums, some light alcohol, spices, some sweetness. spicy / light alcoholic / light yeasty finish. quite nice, alcohol, sweetness and fruits work together quite good.

A bit hazed amber color with a fine off white head. Some yeast, caramel malty and mild banana in the flavor. Medium + body. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Average to soft carbonation. Fruity, dominant toffee, some yeast and some banana in the flavor. Decent Belgian ale, but no favorite.

Dark amber. Hazy. Rocky ivory head. Very intense aromas: honey, butterscotch, vanilla, walnut, bread, pie, dates... Sweet and powerful. Full body, long finish with no bitterness. Delicious.

BOTTLE 33 CL. O, yeah... you know a Belgian (amber - the like of Brigand or Piraat) Strong when you smell it - sugary sweetness, sweet con, sweet dried fruit (figs, apricot) and spicy alcohol. Lots of sweetness balanced by alcohol spice and heat - that is the name of the game. OK.

Clear, dark amber beer with a thin head and a strong, floral aroma. Flavour has a sweet taste of the sort you often get in this sort of beer where if it weren’t balanced so well by the bitter hops it could be sickly. Strong, alchohol-y malt taste. A bit more body wouldn’t go amiss but it’s generally a really nice, well-rounded beer.
