9th July 2018; Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting in Chez Sophie. Cheers Simon for this 500ml can. Poured a deep, dark brown, the head a lightly tanned affair. Roasted malts ruled the nose and taste, mild coffee and chocolate flavours within the malty base.

500ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, July 18, courtesy of Simon. Pours dark with frothy pale tan head. Aroma presents gentle roast. Taste is gentle dark roasted malt, some distant liquorice, light nuttiness, drying bitter close. S'ok.

Burk från Mikkeller Beer Club:
Svart med bruna kanter. Tjockt skum. Rostad doft med inslag av choklad och kex. Lite tunn munnkänsla. Välbalanserad rostad smak med inslag av kaffe och choklad.
En bra stout i all sin enkelhet.

(On tap) Black with good beige head. Pleasant aroma I'd rather subtle - roast malt with some fruity candy notes. Light bodied, well carbonated. Taste is quite light compared to appearance- pleasant though. Sweet candy notes and berries (maybe the imperial porters and stouts I just have are influencing this). Pleasant and refreshing.

04.07.2017, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Big light brown slightly fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry roasted, toast, hay, minerals, roasted grain, grass, chocolate, hints of roasted coffee. Taste is dry mineraly, weeds, burnt toast, minerals, grass, burnt grain, metal tank, paper, hay. Medium to longlasting bitterness, harsh burnt mouthfeel. Nice aroma...

Tap at Erzbierschof Liebefeld. Pours black with a smooth foam. Aroma is coffee and not much else, some green pepper. Body is light and smooth, almost thin, but not completely falling off. Still can’t support the nose. Smooth carbonation. Dry palate with little roast flavours. Good and light stout!

Tap @ Brewdog Helsinki. Poured near black with a thin off white head. Lots of cocoa here, very dry. Chocolate, some oat and more cocoa. Light bodied. Kinda like the cocoa here though even though it is quite up front.

Tap at schrammi keller. Pours black with beige head. Aroma is roast, coffee, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, intense roast, coffee, malt. Finish is roast bitter. Body is on the thin side. Overall: ok for the style, bit of one trick pony.
