Growler, Chapel St Cellars. Listed as 3.8%ABV. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, cola, molasses, mild roast. Fairly light bodied, low carbonation. Not much sweetness, dark sugars and chocolate, hints of berries, subtle roasty things. Finish is bitter and dryish. Pleasant, highly sessionable.

Tap at Craft Clerkenwell - 27/11/12. Dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head that clears to the edge and forms a film. Nose comprises toffee, dark malts, light cocoa and a little smoke. Tastes of dark malts, chocolate, toffee, touch of molasses. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, smooth on the palate, dry finish. Tasty stout.

Draft at The Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Poured black with a thin round tan head. A dry malty and weak aroma. The flavour is bitter with liqourice notes. The palate is a little weak. A drinkable ale for chewy malt lovers, but its not one destined for stardom!

On tap:Deep ruby-amber coloured, stable creamy off-white head; dry ashy-fruity nose; dry bitter flavour, pretty light bodied, slightly lingering malty-sourish finish with a lingering malt-bitterness in the aftertaste. Quite a wean brew, by Mikkeller standards…
