This ale-type beer was created for PALM brewer Alfred Van Roy’s 90th birthday. The ultimate expression of his passion for the distinct fermentation fruitiness of his personally selected PALM yeasts. A real royal treat of a beer. Its appearance is copper-coloured, with a rich, white head which clings to the glass. The aroma is reminiscent of banana; the flavour has bite with a great deal of body. The beer is slightly sweet due to the alcohol, but is nevertheless somewhat bitter and fruity too. Re-fermentation gives the beer a pleasant, dry aftertaste.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Albert Heijn. Light amber with a thick white head. Fruity malty aroma. Fresh amber taste with some added hops. Light and sparkling. Lively carbonation and a nice bitter aftertaste. Nice one.

enjoyed in 33 cl bottle ( hevig hoekske / antwerp ) not realy a palm taste more a dark blonde beer. something to much carbonation . taste ... is it me or can i split this up ? when you realy want one this does taste good. nice aromas, good and much taste, not to heavy, not to light .. but when you just drink it cause you want a beer, the carbonation takes it over.. diffrence in the bottle? or in the mind? anyway, drink this one in thirsty , and in-the-mood-for-one-condition. if they’d fix the carbonation they’d be higher in my ranking...

Paid 3,80 Euro on tap for this in Amsterdam.
A - SRM of 4. 1 finger, clear beer
S - Old malts, dry, champagne yeast scent and some floral scent. Pretty weak.
T - Very malty. Hibiscus flowers? The taste is akin to a lager than a Belgian Strong Ale
M - 80% carbonation with an incredibly dry finish.
O - Not great at all.

Tasted at the 2007 Zythos fest. Mid yellow, copper, orange, amber? A mix of all four then, with a small white head. Yeast, alcohol esters and not a lot more, it’s aroma lets it down. Taste is heavy alcohol, a hint of liquorice with a bitter tang which somehow sweetens as you get into the flavours more. A difficult beer to rate. Dry aftertaste and slightly bitter too. A complicated beer to rate, but well worth trying. My wife and I were given a free bottle each in Blankenberg by a promotional team a couple of years later, as taste, flavours and thoughts.

33cl.

33cl bottle. Orangish beer with an off-white and quickly diminishing but creamy head. Aroma is sweet, malty, moderate spicy. Flavour is sweet at the beginning with hints of caramel, plumbcake and syrup. The aftertaste is long and sweet on the nose. Carbonation is medium. Body is medium to high. Texture is oily.

Beer isn’t great but also not very bad. Think this one scores a bit too low on this website. Everything about this beer is pretty decent.
