Bottled. Clear dark amber, small head. Plums, brown sugar and tobacco up front. Very sweet with medium-full body and clean mouthfeel. Brown sugar and syrup, some aniseed and pear brandy. Peppery warming finish. American style with immense sweetness and edgy malt, but without providing any inventive features.

Snifter at the brewery - dark purple - lively carbonation - nose of plum, raisin, toffee, and treacle - quite sweet in aroma - the flavor is similar - kind of sugary - the yeast is at least fairly expressive on the back end, with strong spice, pepper, cobweb - however, the front end sticky toffee sweetness is hard to get past - needs some drying out so the yeast can bring more complexity and it won’t be as cloying.
