Bottle. Lively stuff, but not a gusher. Hazy golden color, massive fluffy white head. Aroma of carrots, celery, salt, broccoli. Taste of yeasty! Grassy coffee. Interesting.

On tap at Local Option. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of strong coffee with a bit of backing pine hop. Flavor is full of coffee (wet rinds) with a hint of backing grain and hops.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours hazy orange amber with a decent creamy off-white head. Aroma is simply coffee. Med body. Flavor is coffee, light caramel and some floral? hop.The coffee tends to dominate here. Interesting take on a coffee ale - not so heavy as the ISs - but quite drinkable. It’s dry and bitter.

Bottle procured from the National Winter Ales Festival 2012. Cloudy amber pour with a light beige head. Very odd nose, cucumber, citrus and what seems like beetroot. Flat tasting. Light coffee and smoky-fruit flavours. Odd aftertaste. Smoky-malt bitter finish. Very experimental.

33cl bottle. Pours a very cloudy orange/brown with a very large head. The nose has grapefruit going into orange, with an earthy, vegetal character. The taste is of dry yoghurt and malt notes with a citrus tang on the end. The palate is decently structured but tight and lean with a good length on the drying finish. Overall, more interesting than good, but good all the same.

Amber....slight haze.....big frothy white head
Aroma of grassy hops...nut kernels....some coffee...yeast...light pale malts...wet straw...earth
Taste of grassy hops...nut kernels.....some bitterish coffee.......bit ashy.....slight vegetal notes...unusual....a lot of flavour for 4.4% but it just doesn’t taste that great.
Palate - High carbonation - over carbonated....light body.....bitter hops. Finish as main flavour...the end tail of the finish lingers for ages - even 20 mins afterwards!
Overall - I was disappointed with this beer - it just isn’t very good....an experimental beer that doesn’t really come together that well.....the beer was 5 months old...perhaps it’s better fresh from the keg

0,33 l. bottle. Slightly hazy, amber colour with a huge white head, the bottle was over-carbonated. Fresh coffee (-beans) and cacao in the aroma. Sweet taste with tropical fruits, citrus, followed by freshly ground coffee. Thin to medium palate, soft carbonation. Bitter finish with an earthy note. Quite unusual, but refeshing.

11.2 oz. bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours a cloudy dark orange with a medium off-white head. Aroma is heavy on the coffee beans, with sugar, some subtler vanilla and light fruit cake (apricots, raisins). Flavour is a bizarre mix of qualities that don't seem to go together really - sour fruit cake and coffee. Begins with the coffee, turning into a tart fruit cake with a lingering bitter dirtiness. Drinkable, but the flavour profile is too off-kilter and designed haphazardly to be enjoyable. Decent experiment that turned out quite whacked.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Deep golden to orange colour. Intense and dryish aroma of coffee beans, quite unexpected (if I hadn’t read the label) in a beer this pale. Not good at all. Dry flavour of coffee beans and ashes, some hops in the finish. Not a beer for me - the worst I’ve had from De Molen.

Bottle at Sorbon. Almost clear, yellow/ golden liquid with huge white head. Very nice lacing. Aroma of coffee, grapefruit, hops, light malt and almost green paprika. Taste is light sweet, medium bitter and fresh coffee. Light to medium bodied with high carbonation. OK but weird. Taste wise it’s OK, but the aroma is just too weird. It isn’t drinkable at all.
