Very dark brown beer, beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, malts and chocolate, a bit musty. Flavour is very soft and sweet, malty, dark chocolate, ripe fruits. Nice slightly bitter finish. Creamy and soft mouthfeel. Very good beer!

Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is very musty and earthy with some candi sugar and dark fruit. Flavor is some burnt brown sugar and dark fruit with a little vinegar. Finish is no problem as the flavors are somewhat dulled as this goes down. Still this is a somewhat tasty Belgian and something to at least try for the aroma alone.

nice and quite balanced aroma. looks great, dark dark clear brown, light brown fine head. taste is sweet and "belgian" alc dominates more than neccessary, however, the rest is very well balanced.

Pours a rich, dark red, with a frothy, lasting, 1-finger off-white head - the aroma is an interesting, complex, but soft mixture of overripe fruit sweetness, and lightly tart apple and cherry skins - a little bit of earth and must add depth - the flavor is a bit on the sweet side, with none of the tartness the aroma hints at - still, it isn’t bad - brown sugar, baked apples, raisins, and cherries are all in the mix to make things interesting - there is a tiny bit of the earthy character from the aroma present - dries out a little in the finish, as notes of cocoa become apparent - a little bit of alcohol heat on the back end - quite an understated brew - if the flavor were more like the aroma, it would be a home run.

750ml corked bottle. Murky deep brown-amber color, with a nice frothy head. Deep, rich, and malty with a significant spice. Mellow brown candi sugar, anise, and orange peel all come across in the aroma as well as the taste. Smooth and creamy, a little dryness intertwined with the warming of the alcohol. Excellent beer.

Bottle at Cafe Erasmus in Brugge. Deep dark aromas of fruit, dark malt, and a touch of coffee. Very dark brown color with a huge lacing tan head. Flavor is dark fruit; dark malt and hop. This is slightly sweet, but finishes rather smooth and dry, with a hint of prune.

Bottled(750ml). -from some Match in Budapest.
Reddish/dark brown coloured, big stable tan head, fruity alcoholic nose. The taste is also very malty and pleasant fruity with notes of dried fruits, chocolate and spices. Mild alcoholic notes in the pleasant fruity finish. Very good Floreffe.

Big bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado (thanks!) Post Tuborg Lemon Melior. Heh. Poured a huge, extremely persistant and stable caffe latteish pale tan head and a dark, almost black reddish colour. Impressive. The nose is strong... dark malts, raisins, some coffee and fruitiness. All in all, respectable. The taste is more of the same. A nice, somewhat coffeeish earthy roastiness surrounding a very pleasant, fine fruty sweetness... some fruit I cannot think off. Apples I guess. A bit estery. Sweet aftertaste. All in all I really liked this one. Seen the Floreffe beers in a few stores in Budapest (Ogi got the bottle in one) and I thought that 1200-1300 Forints is a bit too much for a bottle. I was quite possibly wrong.

Very dark brown body with a medium creamy tan head. Cork popped as opening and nearly hit me on the way to the ceiling. Huge molassas and anise aroma, with some dry malts. More molassas and lighter anise in the flavor with some light caramel and faint bitterness in the finish. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.
