Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured thick, black and oily with a large creamy very dark brown head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was strong real blueberry and marshmallow. The flavor was strong blueberry, chocolate syrup, toasty malts and marshmallow. Long finish. Thick, full and creamy body. Outstanding.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma of blueberries, roasted malt and some chocolate. Unfortunately it’s served pretty cold but it just gets better with the rising temperature. When a saw it on the tap list at the blackboard I thought it was a beer I would either love or dislike. Fortunately it was the first one. I’ts just fantastic. Intense blueberry taste mixed with some chocolate, and extremely well balanced in my opinion. Just nosing it for several minutes (waiting for it to get warmer) is a pure pleasure. Complex and full bodied. Truly a delicious beer. When the glass is empty I’m left with a choclaty blueberry taste in my mouth and the urge to buy another glass. Unfortunately we didn’t have the time to do that so I really hope I’ll get a chance at another occasion. I want more! (2012-04-07)

26/03/2012 Ma che siete venuti a fà (tap). Nerissima, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma color beige, fine e abbondante. Al naso curioso mix di malti tostati, note caffettose e una punta acidula data dai mirtilli. In bocca risulta abbastanza sgraziata, le due componenti si amalgano bene nel complesso, ma fanno abbastanza a cazzotti. Stucchevole e fastidiosa alla lunga. In compenso ha una ottima bevibilità. Così così.

Black with a medium height, dark brown head. Aroma is full of blueberry, roasted malts, chocolate. The problem with all blueberry beers I’ve ever had is that they always remind me of all those blueberry eggos I ate as a kid. Full bodied. Flavor has a nice roasted malt profile, chocolate, light milk, and plenty of blueberry. This one has the aroma of eggos but the flavor is much different and quite nice. One of the better fruit infused beers I’ve had.

Received in trade from barak316, thanks for the opportunity. A vigorous pour produces jet black body with tight tan head that looks like poetry in a glass. It smells like blueberry muffins as soon as I pop the cap. Roasty herbal earthy aromas as well as some berries upon closer sniffing. Taste is herbal and earthy up front to the point of being annoying. That slowly fades into a burnt sugar roasted kind of thing. Long lingering caramel roasty sweetness with a touch of heat in the finish. Medium to thick body with a light level of carbonation, and a rough sticky mouthfeel. This kind of grew on me as I drank it, but its not one of my favorites. This for me was very similar to the two with the addition of blueberry flavoring?

12 oz. bottle, into a English pint glass. Purchased @ Julio’s. Served at cellar temp. Sizable, mocha head that diminished quick leaving thin ring of head, mild lace. From the second I popped the cap, I could smell blueberry. Hard to find anything other than Berries in the nose. Nice flavor! Up front I get the berry followed by, roasted malt, chocolate and a lite bitterness in the finish. Creamy palate. Low carbonation. Dark Horse did well with this stout. The thing I like most is the blueberry tastes natural. If you like sweet stouts, this is nice!

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled this year(new label). Pours pitch black color with a nice 2 finger fairly dense tan head with good retention that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some decent spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, blueberry, roasted malt, caramel, coffee, and a bit of smokiness. Fantastic aromas, smells very much like fresh blueberries. Very authentic. Taste of dark chocolate, roasted malt, blueberry, coffee, caramel, toast, and light herbal hops. Fair amount of coffee bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, blueberry, coffee, roasted malt, and caramel on the finish for a good bit. Great balance of flavors; very nice showcase of the blueberry and roasted chocolate notes. Medium carbonation and body; with a very nice highly creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel. Alcohol is very well hidden at 7%, with only a slight warming after the finish present. Overall this is a highly excellent stout. Probably the best I have had with fruit in it. Great balance and big robust flavors; with very smooth drinking for the alcohol level.

355 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget and consumed on January 27. pours very dark brown, almost black, with a small brown head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace. Smell is sweet and fruity with lots of blueberry, some salty liquorice and hints hints of roasted malts. Reminds me of blueberry hard candies. Taste is mostly roasted malts, liquorice, bitter chocolate and coffee but the blueberries are evident here too. Finish is bitter with a very slight sourness and some coffee. An interesting mix and a solid beer.

Bottle. Black color, brown head with good retention. Aroma of peppery dark cocoa and coffee with berries. The flavor of the blueberries is sublte enough to blend pretty well with the roastiness of the stout.

Stor doft av blåbärs- eller kanske snarare björbärsgodis, julmust och äpple. Lätt kropp, lite syrlig, lätt tvålig, torr eftersmak med drag av bitterchoklad. Och så hela tiden dess blåbärsestrar. Det funkar ändå riktigt bra. Jag gillar att den har en realativt lätt kropp. Det passar bra till blåbären.
