Aroma has lots of roasted malt and coffee. Also some blueberries. Flavour has roasted coffee with some distant blueberry aroma. The aroma gets stronger when we get closer to the sweet and a bit floury finish. Good stout, but I think this would be even better without the berries. Maybe.

Bottle at Bishops Arms Järntorget, Göteborg, on July 20, 2011Black color, big dark brown head. Sweet, berry, fruity, malty, chocolate, alcohol scent. Sweet, acidic (black malts or blueberry?), malty, roasted taste. Dryish roasted aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness. A bit grainy.I’d liked the blueberrys more, though a hint more comes as the beer warms up.

12 oz. bottle, $2 single at Famous Liquors. A lot of chocolate in the nose, but yes, that’s some blueberry making its way through, too. Quite full of chocolate malt yumminess, without too much astringency. Pours solid black, with nut brown foam. Taste is a nice Guinness style stout, but thicker what with the extra alcohol. Chocolate again, and some mocha coffee with Kahlua too. The blueberry is there, somewhat transformed by those rude malts in the fermenter. But it’s there to add smoothness and more of an edge of fruit than the usual cloying sweetness. Manages to be outstanding by not becoming "extreme."

Purchased at Breeze Thru Liquors in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed on a day when I found out when I’m starting a new gig! Appearance a pure pitch black, somewhat sludgy, with a really unique brown/dark blue/purple head. Never seen anything like that before! Aroma really unique, equal parts blueberries, chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, lactose, very nice. Taste is pretty thick with good carbonation, great chocolate notes with a slight hint of toffee, roasted malts make it somewhat smooth, and the blueberries are in there but are not dominant, sit nicely in the balance. Very nice balance, highly enjoyable.

Chocolate, coffee, caramel and blueberries in the aroma. The blueberry note is mild and decent, but it comes off a bit artificial and kinda reminds me of blueberry Eggos. There’s good roasty bitterness on the palate. Lots more caramel. Some molasses. Mouthfeel is smooth. Great looking head, creamy and light brown. If the blueberry flavor worked a bit better, I’d be a much bigger fan.

Bottle. A black one, looking really nice in the glass, but the tan head would look even better with more height. It has the most wonderful man-made aroma I’ve ever smelled, with lots of blueberry, leading my thoughts to pancakes, coffee, chocolate and dried fruits as well as hints of alcohol and something sugary. It’s almost equally superb in the mouth, which after minutes of satisfaction to the nose finally got a sip. It’s sweet and malty, slightly roasted and caramel-ish and roasted-bitter. Blueberries are present, but not as intense as in the aroma, and there’s also chocolate and coffee. It’s full-bodied and smooth, with the finish lasting long after the final drop has been swallowed. Took me a long time to do this. On tap at the Bocktown; a really nice informative beer everything place. I see why this rates so high, approaches imp stout territory on the palate - probably shoulod be in the fruit beer or impy stout styles. Big coffee initial blast with mild fruit of blueberry essence in the taste buds of this one. Big black pour, choco moose head that fades. Smell is fruit black cool coffee. Yes bitterness but much less than i expected. However, Mr. Big bitter sets in and evolves as the session continues. Very little if any CO2. Becomes overly strong and difficult near the end, wew. Over the top on the finish. Yes slight fruit of possibly blue on a big coal black coffee beer. Mouth coating and perhaps a little lovely rude.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Chocolate covered blueberry aromas. Dry with sweet blueberry upfront turning to chocolate and espresso in the lasting finish.
