Our Black n Blue is a sweet full-bodied Baltic Porter with a smooth palate and tones of roasted coffee and chocolate. For the twist, we spike it with Swedish blueberries at the dry hopping stage, then lager it for a few months to let the flavors infuse. The tart blueberries are subtle yet distinct on the nose and in the flavour and balance well with the sweetness of the Baltic Porter. The rounded bitterness comes from the Pacific Gem hop, which is known to have very little aroma, leaving room for the blueberries to shine. Cheers!

Tap @ TCBF2019. Smell of roasted malt. Black colour, brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, maybe some vanilla. Very stout-like, not too much BP sweetness. Medium bitter, soft palate.

Bottled (thanks omhper!). Black colour with a big beigeish brown creamy head which leaves good lace. Aroma is mild toasted malts as well as some roast and mild toffee to it. So far so good as a Baltic Porter. Flavour is toffee, some roasted notes, rather tart berries as well as some slight wood to it. The berries makes it a bit strange. Also the carbonation is a bit too rich.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Near black, huge lively head. Fruity nose with some tart bilberries. Sweetish with medium body and rounded, spritzy mouthfeel. Slight notes of licorice, but dominated by insipid bilberries. Another beer ruined by these inferior berries. The just add tart sloppy fruitiness. Mid bitter finish.
