Ok… Let’s get back into the history of Classic Ales. The word ‘stout’ means ‘proud and strong’ and refers to the drink being the strongest Porter and so was original called a Stout Porter. Over time the word Porter was dropped off the label and just became a Stout. We see a Stout as being high in intensity, bold, complex yet well balanced and silky in the mouth. Prominent flavours are of dark fruits, like Prunes and Figs, Toasted Coffee Beans and Chocolate. Yes we are very ‘stout’ about our Stout!!

Grains: Maris Otter, Brown Malt, Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley and Smoked Malt
Hops: Warrior and Willamette

Backlog, used to work for this brewery and at time reviewed the beers I tasted, now that I am no longer employed figured I can enter them.BB 08.01.2017. - Batch 15025.Clear black color with some dark brown to the bottom of the glass, builds up a medium sized light brown head that dissipates but does not dissapear.Sweet, malty, milk chocolate scent.Sweet, light roasted, malty, some minerals taste. Light roasted, a slight bit metallic aftertaste.Smooth big mouthfeel, medium to low CO2, medium low bitterness.Has the right color and nice head for an imperial stout. Smells and taste like a lightly aged stout, hides the alcohol well. Mouthfeel is a bit thick. The only thing disturbing is that slight mineral and metallic hint.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty caramel chocolate aroma. Roasted malty caramel and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel and chocolate finish.

Sample at SBWF 2016. Black with a tan head. Sweet with roasted malt, licorice, caramel and some chocolate. The body was full and the finish was sweet with some warming alcohol.

How: Bottle.
Where: Systembolaget.
Appearance: Black colour with a beige head.
Aroma: Liquorice, chocolate, caramel.
Body: Medium to full body, medium carbonation.
Flavour: Sweet malt, chocolate, dried fruit.

Flaska från SB. Opak närmast svart, stor skum som snart lagt sig utan att lämna spår. Söt doft av mörkt socker, fudge, och mörk choklad. Ganska vass och lite kärv munkänsla. Söt smak med muscovad, fudge, lakrits. Tydlig kärv beska. Lite astringent smakbild (sötbeskt) och vass munkänsla. Trots det en hel del kvalitéer. Ok.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Black with beige head. Sweet licorice aroma. Sweet with medium-full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Sugar, notes of licorice. Sugar takes over. Mid bitter finish with some resin. Too sweet and disharmonious.
