Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels
A conscious and meaningful brewing effort between friends and lovers of barrel aged beers: formulated as a blend of our signature barrel aged stouts, we both selected techniques and ingredients that pushed both our skill sets. The resulting beer rested for 14 months in fresh bourbon barrels. Inky, warm, dark & extravagant, swallowing you into a deep abyss of liquid love. Collaboration with Side Project.

Capped 375 shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown with essentially no head at all. Aroma is very dark treacle, and also bourbon. Med + body. There’s chocolate, heat, dark treacle and bourbon. Lots of whiskey heat. Pleasing in the mouth. Not dry, and not bitter, but the heat works against the malt. Killer stuff.

Bottle poured at Matt’s. A huge thanks to Prufrockstar for the share. A fun Collab. Hehe beer here. Near black pour with no head. Huge aroma of raisin, booze, chocolate. Very heavy impressions. Extremely thick, but surprisingly smooth considering the huge bill. Brown sugar, chocolate, maple, nutty constant, smooth bourbon. Massive beer, but drinks fairly easy compared to others like it. A fun try. Enjoyed this.

Sample at the brewpub during the ’Appervation Bottle Release’ on 05/24/2017. The beer is a brown-black color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, malt, vanilla and chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, chocolate malt, vanilla and fig. The finish is boozy with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Very good all around.

Barrel and roast. Oily aroma. Black pour with decent head. Some but and a little velvet in texture like your girlfriend has 80s leggings. Bottle.
