Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels
A conscious and meaningful brewing effort between friends and lovers of barrel aged beers: formulated as a blend of our signature barrel aged stouts, we both selected techniques and ingredients that pushed both our skill sets. The resulting beer rested for 14 months in fresh bourbon barrels. Inky, warm, dark & extravagant, swallowing you into a deep abyss of liquid love. Collaboration with Side Project.

375ml (thx, Marc-Olivier !) @ Ryan's shared with Faress and a gang. The OG bottle from 2018. Appearance: dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma: American oak, a bit of roasted malt, and sweetness. Taste: moderately sweet, American oak, a bit of roasted malts. Slightly oxidized. Overall: still good.

Dark brown, has a soft barrel note, with a mellow liquorice and medium chocolate, maybe some minerally notes. There's a deep fruity note, which brings some of those darker malts. There is a bit of alcohol sliding into the finish. Good balance, interesting character.

Poured from 375mL bottle (2018 vintage - 13.5% abv). Dark brown with minimal beige head. Oxidized, mild bourbon, quite fruity on the taste, some feint chocolate. Okay.

375mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is dusty and somewhat oxidized, with earthy bourbon barrels -- smells somewhat past its prime. Flavour is better, with smoked meat, some bourbon barrels, molasses, and a hint of dark fruits. Integrated and deep, but a little past its prime -- lots of dark dried fruits on the finish. Good.

375ml bottle pours out black topped with a small tan head. Nose is sweet chocolate rich roast malts bourbon barrel balanced and a touch of vanilla. Taste is more of the nice sweet chocolate roast malts coffee bourbon barrel.

375ml bottle at share.Black pour, ring of brown head. Aroma is roasty malts, coffee, chocolate. Taste is roasty and bitter, mildly sweet chcocolate and a healthy dose of ABV.
