750ml bottle pours a watery, opaque black with some lacing beige head. Nose isn’t great, stale coffee, raisin, chile. Flavor is a little better, cola, chocolate, raisins, prickly, ancho chile. Full, sweet finish.

Rich, strong dark espresso nose. Dark brown, thin yellow head. Tangy, sweet coffee and oak flavor. Medium body, lasting oak finish. No chocolate discernible but the tanginess must be coming from the chocolate. Bourbon not noticeable either, which is good for me. Very nicely crafted.

The taste is rich chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malts, whisky, fruity notes and bitter hops. Medium bodied. Very nice beer. 1/4/12... 8/3/8/4/17
