Bottle at home. Aroma is roasted malt, lots of peat, smoke, wood, big whiskey, leather, charcoal, hint of dark chocolate, a little booziness. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. The peat is strong with this one. In fact, a bit too peaty to be a true winner in my book. That being said, this is a well crafted and enjoyable beer.

Tap @ Borefts 2015. Black, opague. Roast, smoke, raisin and peat in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with raisin, peat, smoke and ash. The Bunnahabhain especially reveals itself in the flavor. Complex and delicious.

Bottle from ABC Beers, with a little age and shared with the KL tasting crew. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is big peat, roasty malt, dry alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich dry oily, earthy malt, warm burning boozy alcoholic palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Very boozy but somehow it seems to work.

On tap @ Borefts 2015. Lots of peat in this one. Not overwhelmingly, but still a lot. Nutty chocolate, smoke and wood. Smells quite nice. In the glass it's deep, thick and dark with a nice brown small head on the top. Lots of flavor and it's definitely peated but still drinkable. Thick, oily med almost a little syrupy on the mouthfeel and it's prickling on the soft carbonation. Chocolate and cocoa powder. Kinda dryish in a way. Ends with a soft acidic woody burntnes. Actually one of the more drinkable peated ones I've had in quite a while. 25.09.2015

Bottle at home. Almost black with no real head, just a thin film and a little island of brown bubbles. Strong scotch up front with some peat, dusty wood and vanilla. Nice thick chocolate and roasted malts, toffee, syrupy, some dried red fruits, canned peach, band aids. Over medium sweet with roasted bitter finish. Full bodied with very slick oily feel and barely any carbonation. Aging beer in barrels that held peated whisky is never a very idea in my book. And again here the whisky is quite overpowering, which makes this way less good than #2. Would love to try the base beer.
