Borefts Beer Festival 2015. Black with a small off-white head. Aroma of licorice and chocolate with peat smoke. Sweet and thinnish flavour with licorice, peat smoke and ash.

Lots of smoked peat and some roast and barrel. Pours black with ok head and lacing. Some dark chocolate. Bitter finish. Nuce stuff. Bottle.

Black color, sparse bubbles. Imperial peaty and iodine aroma, wonderful. Smooth mouthfeel a bit undercarbonated, wonderful chocolate flavor with salty peaty character; moderate residual sweetness; nice nutty and warm final.
You know what you get with this kind of beers, and it’s lovely.

Pitch black with no head, no matter how vigurously I pour. Peat smell, but toned down, unlike other beers aged in Islay barrels. You can feel dark cherries and cocoa in there, too. Tastes like peat, which is not really to my liking, but you can als feel some malty sweetness, smoke and sone dark fruit. Not my kind of beer but might be suitable for those who enjoy this type of barrel aging.

Poured from 330mL bottle. Near black with very minimal beige head. Extremely peaty, subtle chocolate and alcohol, mild roast. Almost more of a smoked imperial stout.

On tap at craft & draft. Opaque black with a medium large, creamy, brown head. Peated, malty aroma of charcoal, tar and licorice. Sweetish, peated taste of charcoal, tar, prunes, coffee and dark chocolate, followed by a long, medium bitter, heavily peated finish. Full body, creamy and oily mouthfeel.

From tap. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is peated, roasted and dark malty. Creamy mouthfeel. Roasted, peated and dark malty. Dry, peated, minerals and roasted. Dense dark malty finish.

330mL bottle, pours black with a tiny beige head. Aroma is smoky and whiskey-dominating, with lots of Islay upfront that completely takes over. Flavour is intense, absolutely dominated by the smoky Islay barrels upfront, followed by a touch of roast. Intense -- Islay'd to fuck. But since I really like Islay, this is excellent to me. Very soft palate. Love it.

Borefts VII. Day 1. Keg. Hazy deep amber beer, decent pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Smooth dark malts. Smoky TCP blends okay with the dark fruits. Light finish. Okay.
