[9/26/15] Draught sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2015 in Bodegraven. Black with a tan head. Aroma of peated whiskey, chocolate. Sweet flavor with chocolate, peated whiskey, wood, and a bit of booziness. Full-bodied. Very good.

Black. Aroma is very smokey and peaty. Flavour is also rather smokey and a bit acrid. A bit of raw alcohol too.

Keg at BBF 7, Bodegraven, 25/09/15. Black topped with a decent tan swirl. Nose is peated malt, light smoke, toffee, toasted brown sugar, smoked gammon, earthy, light charr. Taste comprises more peated notes, barell tones, charr, dark fruit rinds, ashen. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, light warming booze in the close. Ok for a peated impy but perhaps a little heavy handed.

330 ml bottle. Pours black with almost no head. Aromas of hickory smoke, molasses and licorice. Flavors of peat smoke, chocolate, licorice, iodine, and a hint of dark fruit. A bit like a rauchbier.

@Borefts 2015, van tap, schenkt donkerbruin tot zwart met bruine kraag. aroma van mout, chocolade, geroosterd, turf. smaken zijn erg zoet, vanille, zacht en glad, turf, mij iets té turfachtig, desondanks ok

Keg at Borefts Beer Festival, De Molen, Bodegraven Friday 25th September 2015 in the company of Ruth Big, ballsy dark thick stout with a beige head, uh..oh..this smells a bit too much like TCP I think we have got ourselves a sneaky bloody Islay aged stout here, yuck.... Soft mouthfeel, malty but far too much peatiness, I cannot get on with it (wish I had of asked before buying) Jackie finished it off. A4 A4 T4 P4 Ov10 2.6

Handpump @Ma che siete venuti a fà (Rome). Pours black with a light and persistent cappuccino foam. Aroma is peated with coffee notes ans dark chocolate, amazing. Flavour is medium sweet with a strong bitter end. Full body, light carbonation. Fantastic beer!

At Villagio Della Birra 2015.Black color, brown head. Intense smoked scent. Sweet, roasted, smoekd taste. Smoked aftertaste. Warming alcohol. Full mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
