Swami’s IPA was first brewed in 1992 to commemorate one of our favorite local surf breaks nestled below a spiritual enlightenment temple that sits on the cliffs above. This West Coast style IPA features a timeless American hop profile of citrus and pine with a crisp balanced finish. It’s a dream come true to be able to share so many pints over time as we all evolve together. Whatever your form of meditation is, we hope that each and every sip contributes to your own self-realization…Cheers!

Cask days 2014.
Citrus zest, grapefruit, tropical fruit, peach, and some floral green hop cones. Slightly viscous mouth feel, soft carb. Huge citrus finish, floral, honey soaked hops. Great stuff.

Can from Beer Republic. Aroma is intense fruity hops, juicy tropical fruits, citrus, grapefruit, pine resin, mango, light pale malt with a slight herbal touch. Flavour is light to moderate sweet with a bitter finish. Body is medium. Lovely West Coast IPA, lots of fruity hops and pine, easy and very drinkable.

Can I guess at the US vs. CZ west coast blind tasting. Clear golden body, off-white head. Resin, gum, light oxidation, onion, nice aroma really. Earthy-resinous taste, almost nutty in this malty touch, light citrus, big, lasting bitterness. Nice, but bit old.

Very clear golden and light yellow coloured body with a thinnish, pure white head, about a single centimetre tall that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of yeast, bread, light citrus fruit and a good deal of sugars here. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grassy and bready notes show at first with a lot of hay and floral elements with a touch of pine and candy with a yeastie and wheatie finish towards the end. Aftertaste is pretty clean with some slight citrus and grassy notes all on top of the relatively strong alpha acid bitterness from the hops that is noticeable throughout. Overall, a nice, rich and flavorful IPA with a lot of characteristics, especially for the style that hits nicely and brings out a slight bitterness from the hops here. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Fairfield, California on 07-March-2022 for US$2,09 sampled in my hotel room here in [downtown] San Francisco, California on 07-March-2022 just a few hours later while enjoying the city here.

3 May 2020. Anke's Secret Birthday Tasting avec Pieter. Can from Gedeelde Vreugde. Pours hazy orange with a big, lasting, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of dank mango & peach, tangerine, yellow grapefruit, pine, spring onion, kiwi. Taste is a bitter profile of yellow grapefruit, unripe stonefruit, pine with sweeter hints of mango & tangerine, doughy malty backbone & a dank whiff throughout. Dry, resinous & piney hoppy finish, more dank fruit & yeast. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Feels very old school; what else does one need?
