Di colore scuro e dal carattere profondo, questa Black IPA non filtrata trasuda caramello. Note tostate e un amaro audace, agrumato e resinoso.

Bottle at Il Serpente pub, Rome. Pours mid brown, much lighter than any other Black IPA I’ve had, with a quite large bubbly off-white head. Aroma of hop, chocolate, malt, citrus fruit, light toasting and slightly nutty. Moderate sweetness, medium plus bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Pretty good.

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours hazy brown with whitish foam. Aroma has some resinous, roasted, some coffee. Body is medium. Taste is balanced, with mild bitterness. But this bitterness is highly persistent in the finish.

Bottle shared with kermis @ Hoppy Days. Opaque dark red-brown color with a dark red glare coming through when held into the light, medium sized beige to light brown head. Aroma is malts, quite hoppy, lightly roast. Taste malts, hops, lightly roast, lightly a hint of fruit hops and medium bitter. Medium body and carbonation. A fine black IPA.

Craft Clerkenwell. Keg. A sample thanks to the Barman. Light haze on this deep gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and dry, medium fine carbonation. Lactose laden pale malts. Bubblegum esters. Trace of spice. Light dry finish. Black IPA? Never in a month of Sundays! No idea what this is really supposed to be but it’s not good and my gratitude to the barman who saved me from actually spending on this.
