Burnside Sweet Heat is a wheat ale with an addition of 200 pounds of Apricot puree, then dry hopped with imported Jamaican Scotch Bonnet peppers. Reminiscent of a Caribbean chutney, Sweet Heat has a subtle tartness from the fruit with a slight spiciness from the peppers which also adds a fruitiness to the aroma.

Part of a tasting flight at BCS. Hazy mango juice color with no head. Very light fruit aroma and some grain. Watery mouthfeel with a medium to light body. Taste has some soap and vegetative notes with some light fruit. Spicy finish. Kinda weird. --- Beer merged from original tick of Sweet Heat on 16 Jul 2015 at 12:29 - Score: 6

Nose is very odd, strongly vegetable with lots of lemon, fizzy & artificial like,β¦ Taste is milky, soapy, vegetable with apricots, not good followed by chili head, heat is quite good but the rest really wasnβt,β¦ Hugely soapy body. Not good.

Bottle shaped at the De Molen monthly tasting. Pours cloudy blonde with a ring white head. Aroma of fruity peppers, light mango, apricot and other fruits. Flavour is light to light moderate sweet and bitter. Pepper heat showing up fairly strong in the first sip and building with each after. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Interesting, but certainly wouldnβt want to drink the whole bomber by myself.

[2/24/15] Draught at Burnside Brewing in Portland. Nice shiny cloudy yellow. Aroma of wheat, fruitiness, candy and a vegetal note. Sweet fruity flavor with candy and a hot chili finish. Light-bodied. Not my thing.
