Aroma of sweetish malt, caramel, nuts, herbal notes. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a light to moderate bitter finish. Not what I’d hoped for in a Heller Bock, too malty and lacking in fruitiness.

Tap at Meibockfestival, Amsterdam: Hazy amber colored brew with an sweet bitter taste, hints of caramel, banana and some spices.

0,33 l can. Dark golden in the glass, little bit cloudy, small one finger white head. Surprisingly floral hoppy smell, maybe parfumed. Tastes the same, some sweet honey. Low carbonated. Less malty than expected. Little bit metallic, typical for a Heller Bock. But not a bad one of its kind.

Bottle. Pale amber color. Malt and a hint of licorice in the aroma and flavor. Sweetish, soft floral notes. Anis. Decent.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 17 Feb 2019) Amber colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of orange peel, apricots, toast and spicy hops. Malty, slightly fruity taste with toast, apricots, orange peel, bread and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced maibock. Quite nice.

Fles thuis geprobeerd. Het is een koper kleurig bier met een medium schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige geur. De smaak is moutig, zoet, caramel en wat hoppig.
