Carl Georg Lie har sin mycket stora biodling i de inre delarna av Kullahalvön, precis mittemellan Höganäs, Helsingborg och Ängelholm. Han väntade väldigt länge med att slunga 2010 års skörd, vilket gjordes strax innan jässtarten i mars. Det stora draget till honungen kom 2010 från vitklöver och vicker. Mjödet verkar ha fått relativt tydliga kryddiga toner, vilka möjligtvis har sitt ursprung från vickern. Mjödet har visat sig vara ett utmärkt matmjöd, och fruktighet i maten, verkar ge mjödet ett gigantiskt lyft.

Bottled@SBWF2012. Silvery pale yellow colour (almost like a very pale perry, close to water colour), no head. Aroma is white wine, some slight zesty notes along with sweet honey and some grassy notes. Flavour is spicy, some white wine like notes, mild zestyness as well as herbs and some honey. Quite different from most of the others Mjödhamnen have made.

Very pale yellow color. Light aroma, some flowers, glue, very light apple and spices. Absolutely dry, although the mouthfeel is softer than expected; but as usual for fermentations pushed so far, it allows for other components to appear and show up: light phenol and heavier alcohols, bit of chemicals, glue; all this disturbing the delicate grapey flavors; it also shows a light bitterness. The final is weak and quite short, with moderate alcohol warmth.

Bottled, thanks gnoff! Clear very pale yellow. Fruity vinous nose - gewurztraminer! Mid dry with surprisingly light body. Fruity with some citrus, gooseberries and tannines. Some hay and floral spicyness, but the pleasant flavour of gewurztraminer is what lingers.

Bottle at mead tasting on November 2, 2012.Clear pear color, no head. Sweet, fruity, alcohol, berry scent, also some lemon. Sweet, lemon, tart taste. Zest and pith aftertaste. Medium smooth mouthfeel, tart finish.
