Det här mjödet är gjort av en av de mest underliga honungar vi hittills stött på. Den innehöll flera gånger högre pollenkoncentration än det normala. Två analyser krävdes för att kunna se att pollen främst kom från raps, blålusern och sälg. Men mycket av detta pollen ärtroligtvis vårpollen som fastnat i kupan, och inte kommit ur den förrän under höstslungningen. Gissningsvis är det blålusern som enskilt dominerar höstdraget, men i praktiken är det omöjligt att avgöra. Honungens ovanligt höga pollenrikedom bör för mjödets kvalité bara vara bra, då det kan bidra till fler och tydligare smaker.

Bottled. Nice silvery golden colour with no head. Aroma is floral, some herbal strange (but nice!) sweetness, honey and some mild wooden notes. Flavour is tasty honey, floral notes along with some sweetness and mild earthiness as well. Mild resiny notes to it.

The color is pale yellow. This one has a more classic aroma of mead, with light honey notes and sweet impression, floral, reminiscent of some German mead. The mouthfeel is soft but very dry; of the three tasted today from Mjödhamnen this is the one closer to a white wine, and the one with less chemical compounds. Some very soft tannin in the end, very dry, a bit salty.
Balanced, fresh and pleasant.

Bottled, thanks gnoff! Almost clear pale golden. Floral viola aroma. Dry and spicy with harsh, grainy honey flavour. Summer flowers and bitter herbs, notes of butter. The most bitter finish I’ve experienced in a mead - all herbal bitterness.

Bottle at mead tasting on November 2, 2012.Clear pale golden color, no head. Sweet, honey, sulphur, leather scent. Sweet, acidic, sulphur taste. Medium mouthfeel, tart finish.

Sample @ SBWF 12. Clear yellow colour. Strong honey, floral aroma. Semi-sweet, slightly dry. Strong flavours, honey, floral, herbs.
